Comments left:	Actually, they had been around, before they 80's, but from 1985 to 1988, it was like EVERYBODY had one. Boys and girls wore them. I had several of them, actually. I just loved them. It was worn by punk and metal fans, yes, but it was soon adopted by the preppies, in blue, washed-out blue, and black, mostly. After that, kids who didn't fit into any dressing category or style began to wear them. And later, our mothers started buying their own... (I think that's a problem we had in the 80,s, with our baby boomer parents wanting to be forever hip, etc)... They were also very popular, I remember, in the 90's. I would say, mostly from 1990 to 1996. In the late 90's, someone came up with the idea of almost unbelievably tight jeans jackets for women, and hip hop-style jeans jackets, oversized and seemingly devoid of sructure... Anyway, I still love Levi's classic jackets, and I think, with so many things eighties having come back, the Levi's is just begging to do the same!
