I came on this site hoping to purchase a glass cookie jar for my niece. I have had mine for over 30 years and whine though she may, she can't have it! In 1977, I started working in a deli where the owner ran a food tab for his employees. The discounted food bill was taken directly out of your pay before he gave you the rest. The system was a help to college kids like me who worked part time until he started selling these cookies. One particular week I ate so many cookies, I owed him money- no lie! In the end it turned out ok because I married that boss and came to own the cookie jar.
