Thanks everyone for sharing some of your memories with me. I too am an 80's kid and I was fortunate to have parents that could afford to spoil me rotten with GI JOE's. I remember owning the Base with the oversized laser gun and jail, along with the ATV, the F14 Jet, Dragonfly Helicopter with the white push button that makes the propellers whirl around. Also, Zartan and his colors changing like a chameleon. Another favorite that every kid wanted to play with was Gung Ho w/his Jar hat, chest tatoo of the Marine insignia and Grenade launcher. My greatest moment was cutting out enough proofs of purchases to mail in for Duke. I was so excited when I got him 2 weeks later in the mail. That was just totally awesome for a 10 year old!! Yes, I too got my hands in a whole lot of dirt digging trenches and filling them in with water in the front yard. We used to have battles to see who'd get the latest thing on the block. Mervyn's, Payless Drugs & KMART were my major suppliers. I wish I had been more caring with those toys and not taken them for granted. I think my mom threw them away once I got too old for them. What a shame, I just hope they ended up in good hands.
