This is my first script from scratch. This is script is currently
in beta testing and will have more features and abilities in the
next week or two as I write them. For now there is only a Standard listing format.
- and "" have no effect around search terms. An asterik
can be used in the middle or end of the word, not the beginning.
QuickSearch Help
This is a very simple search program. Use quotation marks around exact phrases,
a (+) plus directly in front of word means that
the word or phrase must be present in a page, a (-) minus sign means it is NOT present.
- Exclude a Word
In order to exclude a word, you place a (-) minus in front of it. So if you want to
find lyrics, but not by Journey, you would type: "lyrics -Journey".
- Require a Word
In order to find all the pages that MUST include a word, you place a (+) plus sign in front of it.
So if you want to find lyrics, by Journey only, you would type: "+lyrics +Journey".
If you didn't place the plus signs in there, you would get all the pages that have
the world lyrics, and all the pages that mention Journey in addition to the pages
that have Journey and lyrics.
- Case Insensitive/Case Sensitive
If a search is done for HELLO, only words
that are in all capital letters will be displayed. If all lowercase letters are used,
then then it will match all forms of the word.
- Phrases
In order to find something like "totally awesome" you just surround in quotes.
You can use a plus or minus in front of the quotes in order to include or exclude
pages with a phrase in them from appearing.
- Wildcharacters
The only wildcharacter currently supported is the asterik (*). You can not
use it at the beginning of a word, only the middle and end of a word. The wildcharacter
allows you to enter something like "HELL*" and return words like "HELL" or "HELLO".
