Top Ten Lists of Eighties Movies

The concept is pretty easily, pick your ten favorite movies from the eighties. The hard part? I want JUST movies from the eighties, not movies you might have seen during the eighties. Also, try and avoid movies that came out after the eighties if possible, 1990 is pretty borderline, I won't scream too loudly if you add one that is from then...

Duh...anything Star Wars is gonna be in in the very top just beacuse it's Star Wars. No other reason needed.
  • 1. Empire Strikes Back
By far the best movie of the original trilogy. Just leaves you hanging wanting more.
Star Wars comes first and fore most everytime....70's and 80's Horror movies are my one true love though. None of this 90's and 2000's sissy "Teen Horror" where everyone is so afraid to show a little blood and you have to have a "pop star" in it to move the tickets...70's and 80's horror held nothing back
By: Jonathan Sternberg
  • 10. Chariots of Fire

Cheesy script, cast of thousands, classic story, GREAT theme song ("Man in Motion"). You can't go wrong.
  • 2. The Day After
"Would you like an orange?" As freaky as it is brilliant. Nuclear war in Lawrence, KS.
  • 1. Wall Street
"Greed, for lack of a better word, is good." Gordon Gekko and the pre-1987 mentality RULE!
The '80s isn't JUST John Hughes and a few wacky action movies. It's also Oliver Stone, the last gasp of Sir David Lean, and the establishment of some great modern stars. Best of all, though, it saw some of the best films of all time, including Wall Street, which is my hands down favorite for any time period.
