Talk Talk, "It's My Life" / 1984 Review by: Javier
"It's My Life", Talk Talk's second album, represents a move away from the synth driven New Romantic style of the "The Party's Over", the group's debut and the use of more organic and traditional pop sounds. It also features the introduction of producer Tim Friese-Greene, who along with vocalist/songwriter Mark Hollis, formed the group's creative nucleus. Notable songs here are the title track, "Renée", "Such A Shame" and "Tomorrow Started", the latter featuring some very interesting electric guitar work. There aren't any songs with the urgency of the first album's "Talk Talk", but overall, it is a much better realized work. Rating *** out of 5
