The Church, "Starfish" / 1988 Review by: Stefan Horlitz

Well...noone expected a sound by a split-up band called The Church who never gained any etc. etc...but when Under The Milky Way first poured out of my radio, the world was never the same again. A record causing pain.

A record about traveling. About bliss, joy, grief, rainforest-girls-in-amazon-river, sudden night voltage and little fingers grown between our bodies. 12 string rickenbacker guitars, shimnmering guitar interplay and Steve Kilbey's voice telling you what means "longing". David Lindley playing a mandolin solo on spiralling 6/8 folk ballad "Antenna". You'll feel like drunk after. Best album ever. Basta.
