The Church, "Starfish" / 1988 Review by: Jane
Even with a few albums under their belts, the simplicity of Starfish holds an obsession that surpasses adoration. The fact that Waddy Wachtel had a hand in producing it goes to show the band had magic up their sleeves after all.

1988 did not establish a footing in the music world like it should have. Thankfully, the Church broke traditional synth-pop and focused more on the sound than the trends of that particular year. (Paula Abdul, Madonna, Prince)
