The Railway Children, "Recurrence" / 1988 Review by: Simon Richardson
This album improves on the bands debut not only because it is longer but because the production is excellent and brings out the best in the songs. It's a very relaxing album to listen to because the tempo is very calm and laid-back. "In the meantime" is a beautiful song which seems to hint that the most precious times in life are those not worthy of a mention in a diary or to a friend, their not the obvious highlights like getting a job, getting married etc. but the times in between, when you just feel good to be alive.
