ChuckyG's List of Eighties Compilation Disks, Music Video Collections From The Eighties

These videos are all compilations of various artists, music video collections of a single artist are not wanted for this particular list. Videos that contain music videos from after the eighties will generally not be included (unless there's only one or two early 90's songs on it). The eighties after all introduced us to the music video, and they're a lot of fun to watch because some videos are pretty bad.

Comments:
Not intentionally an eighties compilation, it appeared at the tail
end of the eighties, and as such consists of primarily eighties songs
and groups. These were the staples of the late night music show on
MTv which over the past few years has gained a little more exposure since
alternative music has made more of an impact in the past few years. There's
a CD compilation to go with this, which is supposed to pretty good as well.

Commments:
Pretty fun tape, a lot of real memorable videos, though the version
of "Come On Eileen" was one that I hadn't seen before (concert video,
somewhat dull really). Definately a tape worth pulling from the bargin
bins (this is normally a $15 video, it was just released). The songs
arranged on here are better ordered than most of their eighties compilations
are. It should also be noted that this video contains the uncensored
Duran Duran video "Girls on Film" which is better than the Mtv butchered
edition most people would be familar with (directed by Godley and Creme, who
would later go onto be one hit wonders themselves).

The Metro Berlin

Commments:
Not as good as the last video in this series, this tape tends to
have more of the cheezy videos from the early eighties more than anything.
I could definately have done without the "enhanced" edition of "Mickey" which
has some weird effect done with the normally white background which makes
you think you're watching the video in some blurred fashion. "Lies" by
the Thompson Twins was a nice addition to the tape though, as it wasn't played
a lot on Mtv and it's definately more cheezy than most of thier other videos.
