"Layin' It On The Line", Favorite Lines from Eighties Songs, Index

The purpose of this page is really pretty simple, I'm just looking for people's favorite song lyrics, preferably 4 lines or less from a song. No, I won't list entire songs or mail people song lyrics (don't even ask, I won't respond). I'd like to list entire song lyrics to everyone's favorite songs, but that's a blatent copywrite violation, and I don't need any nasty letters in the mail, but a few lines from a song should be considered fair use. So feel free to let us all know what your favorite lines from an eighties song is.

"this Night Has Opened My Eyes..." by The Smiths
"You kicked and cried like a bullied child,a grown man of twenty five.
Oh, he said he'd cure your ills, but he didn't and he never will.
So save your life, because you only have one.
The dream has gone, but the baby is real, oh you did a good thing.
She could have been a poet or she could have been a fool,oh you did a bad thing.
And I'm not happy and I'm not sad.
A shoeless child on a swing reminds you of your own again.
She took away your troubles, but then again, she left pain.
Oh please save your life, because you only have one.."

When he dropped you off at East 83rd

You should know the score by now [You should know by now]
You're a native New Yorker....
