By: Music Video Nut (Artist Spotlight: Debbie Gibson)
  • 10. We Could Be Together by Debbie Gibson
Her fifth single from "Electric Youth", which didn't chart the top 40. Though still a fun video, which featured her family, friends, band members, and dancers having fun.
  • 9. Staying Together by Debbie Gibson
Her fourth single from "Out of the Blue". It's a concert video featuring clips from her "Out of the Blue" tour concert and candid backstage footage. Sort of like most hair band videos at the time.
  • 8. Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson
Title track from her second album, which was the second single from. Though it's not one of her best songs, it's still a fun video to watch. It begins with Deb talking about the meaning of the song with images of celebrities and then she dances with several people, including her dancers. This was the only video from Deb that was nominated for a Video Music Award, for Best Art Direction, but lost to Madonna's "Express Yourself". Though I personally think this video is better since the "Express Yourself" video was lame, which ironically "Electric Youth" was ranked as the 10th worst video on "MTV 25 LAME" (1999). Which I strongly disagree since I find most videos from current rappers & pop acts inane and tasteless.
  • 7. No More Rhyme by Debbie Gibson
Her third single from "Electric Youth". "No More Rhyme" is a well done video with great camera effects and lighting. This video also featured a cameo from Danica McKellar from "The Wonder Years". Deb looked beautiful, as always, in this video.
  • 6. Shake Your Love by Debbie Gibson
Her second single from "Out of the Blue", which the video was choreographed by Paula Abdul and featured dancers, a classic car, and bright colors. A typical fun '80's dance pop video.
  • 5. Only In My Dreams by Debbie Gibson
Her debut video from her debut album "Out of the Blue". Basically a fun video featuring Deb on the beach & a few carnival rides. Music videos aren't they they used to be anymore.
  • 4. Lost In Your Eyes by Debbie Gibson
Her first single from her second album "Electric Youth", which is also one of the best love songs of all time. I tend to melt when I hear one of her ballads, including "Lost In Your Eyes". Deborah looked very beautiful in this video.
  • 3. Anything Is Possible by Debbie Gibson
Her first single from her third album, which was a minor, but unfortunately quickly forgotten, hit. This video featured Deb's new look, which she traded her black hat for a short hair style & a see through shirt. Which she looked sexy, though not 'over the top' like Madonna. It also reminds of those Fly Girl segments from "In Living Color"
  • 2. Out Of The Blue by Debbie Gibson
Title track from her debut album. The video featured her relatives Monica & Michelle and Jeff Russo, who later became one of the members of Tonic. Also a fun video with Deborah flipping through her scrap book with images moving. And first video to feature her trademark black hat.
  • 1. Foolish Beat by Debbie Gibson
Beautifully done classic from Deb's fourth single from 'Out of the Blue', which made her the youngest artist to write, produce, & record a #1 hit. The video also shows her acting, which she was actually crying in one scene. Should've been nominated for a Video Music Award in 1988.
Debbie Gibson: One of the most underrated artists from the '80's. She's now a successful stage actress and still releases great music, though she doesn't get the respect she deserves. Not to mention she was quite a cutie, with a wide range of talent from singing/songwriting, to acting. She now looks great too.

  • 10. Heaven Is A Place On Earth by Belinda Carlisle
That video was so cool and Belinda was so cool as well.

Phil Collins I tell you he is great.
  • 8. sledgehammer by peter gabriel
that video has special effects and peter gabriel is great.
  • 7. Land Of Confusion by Genesis
I was amazed by the video! The puppets were Mike, Tony and Phil Collins doing puppets. Man it looked real!
  • 6. Janie's Got A Gun by Aerosmith
That video was the coolest What can i tell ya? Aerosmith, one the greatest rock n' roll bands of all time.
  • 5. Every Breath You Take by The Police
I love that video! It was in black and white and I love The Police.
  • 4. We Are The World by USA For Africa
i used to listen to that song i played it over and over again man it was a great song man it was a great song.

I love that song! If you hear it now, you will be a Hall & Oates fan, just like I am . I love their songs!
  • 2. Vacation by The Go-Go's
The Go-Go's were one of the most popular MTV bands of all time, but in that video they were doing water skis -that was cool!
  • 1. Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield
i love that song! I love the video and Rick is always cool
If you watch music videos on MTV2 and VH1 classic, it will put your smile on you face.

  • 10. Any Video by Wierd Al
Any wierd Al video is totally cheesy and he tries to make it the more cheesy the better.
  • 9. Beat It by Michael Jackson
Not only is Michael Jackson cheesy, but the gangs (who back in the 80s kids said were "real" gang members) looked so goofy. Like the zombie in thriller one of them even comes up from a man hole. Also, in this song whenever he sings funky it totally sounds like f--k it and nobody ever says a thing about it.
  • 8. Summer of 69 by Brian Adams
Being born in 69 I often consider this song an anthem, but the video is total cheese. Adams just looks to old to be hanging out at the drive in like a teenager. The best part of this song is at the end where he says.. "me and my baby would 69"
  • 7. Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler
Before the days of women teacher sex scandles, and MILF sites all over the Internet there was Bonnie Tyler. In this video she's lusting over one of the young lads of a boy's school where I guess, she's some sort of official because she's wearing a robe in the end. The freaky glowing eyes always get me laughing, and nobody can deny the MILFability with Tyler in that hot night gown.
  • 6. Thriller by Michael Jackson
I know everybody thought this was sooo cool back in day. But look at it now.. total cheese. From the Weremichael to the zombies, one of them comes out of a man hole, it's totally cheesy. I always loose it when that zombies arm falls off, And Michael's zombie make is hallarious.
  • 5. Legs by ZZ Top
From the very beginning with the motorcycle guy saying "watch the dress" to the people making fun of the couple to the two of them along with ZZ Top and the playboy models getting revenge total cheese. Basically, you can dress up like a slut and get even with those who make fun of you. As cheesy as it gets. Ohhh I want her.. shit I got have her.
  • 4. Tuff enough by Fabulous Thunderbirds
Fabulously Cheesy... the really bad part is that I think these guys really thought what they were doing was all though-guy and cool. But the hot women construction workers can't make up for the band's gay ice capades look. Cheesy song, even cheesier video.
  • 3. Safety Dance by Men without hats
I can even put up with the song's cheese Casio do do de de dop dop de da, and SSSSS AAAA FFFF EEEE... but this video is so cheesy. It's like a demented medieval fair, with midgets and that pregnant woman. The pregnant woman even shows up in another men with hats' video (I don't remember the song) where she plays her preggo belly like a drum.
  • 2. Wrap it up by Fabulous Thunderbirds
This time the Thunderbirds get lucky in the end when women un-wrap for them. They all stop pulling off their tops in the end. We of course just see it all from the bare back.
  • 1. Bad by Michael Jackson
I can't believe this was directed by Martin Scorsese, that's his face on the wanted poster for Sacrilege, even though it should be Michael's for making this totally cheesy video and song. "you ain't bad.. you ain't nothin... you ain't nothin" Then du du du da dump, out comes his gang.. and then he's in that cheesy outfit. There's the cheesy japanese gangsta, and the guy moonwalking on roller skates. Even woooh, hooo, and awwww. It's really sad that this the original is even more cheesier than Weird Al's parody, "FAT"
The 80s were just as full of cheese with videos like Michael Jackson's the way you make me feel where halfway through the video the music stops and he starts trashing this car with a sledge hammer going whooooo whooooo.

  • 10. True by Spandeau Ballet
I loved this song even though it was their only hit.
  • 9. Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship
Can we say Grace Slick anyone?
  • 8. Don't Worry (Be Happy) by Bobby McFerrin
I just loved the way Bobby used his voice to make all of those sound affects.
  • 7. I'll Be Lovin You (Forever) by New Kids On The Block
I was a New Kids fan back in the day, since I was 13, and I just loved them.
  • 6. Wham! by I'm Your Man
It's George Michael. It's Andrew Ridgeley. Enough said.
  • 5. Fight Like A Brave by Red Hot Chili Peppers
This was before the Peppers faced all of their demonds of chemical dependency. The video for this song was just awesome.
  • 4. You Can't Hurry Love by Phill Colins
I just love this video because it's a Phill Colins video.
  • 3. The Message by Grandmaster Flash and the Furrious
This was back in the days when rap music was considered to be an art form with something to say rather than a way for people to incorporate the brainless smut that inhibits rap music today.
  • 2. Out Of Touch by Daryl Hall and John Oates
Oversized drums, guitars, and keyboards make for a good video
  • 1. Man In The Mirror by Michael Jackson
All kinds of inportant social issues such as racisim, sexism, and inportant historical moments.
I loved pop and rock music when I was a kid so my tastes haven't changed very much.
By: Chris

I just dont get it but its interesting
  • 1. Born In The Usa by Bruce Springsteen
Probably the most annoying song of all time to non americans
I miss the 80s
By: Nikkau
  • 10. Life in One Day by Howard Jones
Cheesy in a good way. It had everything good about the 80's in it: the outrageous hair and clothes and the bad lip synching. UK version of American Bandstand interspersed with multiple fake TV advertisements; Howard plays multiple characters. It was actually pretty clever.
  • 9. Fat by Weird Al Yankovic
Parody of Michael Jackson's "Bad" featuring Weird Al in a fat suit
  • 8. Safety Dance by Men Without Hats
So it's supposed to be a band of medieval travelers and they're dancing along with telephone poles visible in the background.
  • 7. Everlasting Love by Howard Jones
There were two versions of this video. The original had Howard interspersed with video clips from old silent movies. Maybe there were copyright issues because it got replaced with madly in love mummies going about daily life in London.
  • 6. Got My Mind Set on You by George Harrison
The song is so catchy the dead animals hanging on the walls reanimate themselves and dance along.
  • 5. Come As You Are by Peter Wolfe
If they were going to make him bounce around like that, they could have at least given him a pogo stick.
  • 4. Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham
Scary day glo and tight white short shorts. You kind of wondered why Andrew Ridgely was even there.
  • 3. Hip to Be Square by Huey Lewis & the News
Bad acting and lip synching from the San Francisco 49ers.
  • 2. Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel
There are no redeeming points for dancing fruit.
  • 1. Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo
The iguana roasting over the fire kind of creeped me out.
Is there any such thing as an 80's video that wasn't cheesey? They all were, and they were way better than the stuff today. I only watch MTV or VH1 when they do 80's flashback weekends.
