Description
I guess they were similar to 70's Freakies but they had Freakie shaped marshmallows and cookies rather than O's. "We are the Freakies, we are the Freakies, this is our Freakies Tree. We never miss a meal (oh no) cause we love our cer-re-eel"

They were my favorite! Their commericals were like watching mini-cartoons.

Thank you! I was beginning to believe I had imagined this cereal, b/c nobody remembered it. But I do still have a magnet that came as a prize!

OMG, I thought I was going crazy cause I could remember the cereal box, and only remember Hamhose's snipet (Here’s little Hamhose He’s got a weird nose Do I really have to sing?) and nothing else. People were beganning to think I was making this up. Didn't they have a short lived cartoon that came on Saturday Mornings or was the commercial sort of like an infomercial?

I also thought that I had imagined this cereal...I have tried describing it to everyone and no one ever remembers it! Thank God! I miss all of these fun cereals. This site is awesome!

I remember the Freakies from the 80's with marshmallows. Not many people know what I mean when I talk about them. They were my favorite cereal and if they had them now they would still be my favorite.

I remember eating this cereal and I even remember the commercial. But the one I remember didn't say anything about a Freakies tree. Instead it had the creatures riding in from space on little surfboards and hovering around a kid eating the cereal. I can hear the tune in my mind but not any of the lyrics. I had this ad on tape on a tape where I recorded a bunch of episodes of the Alf cartoon. Or was it My Pet Monster? I'm not sure.

Took me forever to find this b/c no one remembered it but me. LOVED the magnets that came with this cereal. I am so glad to know I'm not crazy. LOL

I too used to eat Freakies, the original 70's version, not the 80's version. I used to collect the magnents too. I actually totally forgot about those magnets until I read these posts...good stuff.

youtube has commercials of all of our cereals that we loved growing up in the 70's and 80's, I miss those times so much, life was so much better, better foods and better tv shows

Freakies had the BEST cereal box toys! For years, I had these Freakies bike spoke decorations on my lime green Free Spirit 3 speed with banana seat. One was blue and the other was pink. Also had the magnets on my parents' fridge for ages. Awwww. Good times.
