I never did have this cereal. I once looked at the side of the box and noticed it was like 8 grams of fat for maybe a cup I think. How is that healthy?

I never had this cereal. I've heard from others that it's the bomb when it comes to taste...Which means that it probably isn't healthy.

This had to be my all time favorite cereal. You can still get it but it must be ordered online.

Anyone remember that some of the commercials in the 70s pitted Quisp and Quake as rivals? My younger brother was a Quake guy while I preferred Quisp. I worked for Quaker until about a year ago and they definitely still make Quisp, though not many stores carry it.

As a kid (I'm 52 now..) I could eat a whole box at one sitting! But my mom would always stop that. But she bought me plenty of it! Best damn cereal ever! Can't find it where I live.
Napalm Zygote - September 08, 2008 - Report this comment
Definitely was not allowed to have this cereal as a kid. Probably because of disturbing cartoony alien character on the front of the box, along with the plain ol' goofy name. This cereal appealed to those on the far side of the bell curve, not that it's a bad thing. Just look at the image again. Don't you feel kinda dopey chuckling out loud at the marketing genius behind this insanity?

I found Quisp in Dollar General for $1.00/box. I proceded to buy all they had (which was 5 boxes) then scoured the other Dollar General's here for the rest. I only got 2 additional boxes. But... they were not as good as I remember when I was a kid. Very similar to King Vitamin. It wasn't as sweet as I recall. However, it was great to have it again and I sold 2 boxes online for a total of $6.00. Can't beat that mark up!!

I remember Quisp. Much better than Captain Crunch, which tended to leave sores on your mouth.
chronos467 - December 05, 2009 - Report this comment
Quisp was the best. It was essentially Cap'n Crunch without the sharp edges. No bleeding gums! Plus it had the best character. It was designed by the same guy who did Rocky and Bullwinkle.

THIS CERAL ROCKS!!!! HEALTHY IF WE ARE GOING TO DISCUSS HEALTHY HOPW HEALTHY IS THE FOOD BEING PRODUCED NOW A DAYS WITH ALL OF THE HORMONES, PESTICIDES, OVER PROCESSING ETC. SO IF I AM GOING TO EAT SOMETHING DARN IT LET IT BE SOMETHING I CAN ENJOY. AFTER ALL THINK OF ALL OF THE MEAT THAT IS BEING INJECTED WITH OVER GROWTH HORMONES TO MAKE THE ANIMAL BIGGER. YOU THINK YOU ARE NOT INGESTING THE HORMAONES FROM ALL OF THE MEAT EATEN? SO PLEASE LEAVE US QUISPIANS ENJOY OUR QUISP'S LOL

I'm with Quispian except for the ALL CAPS. Quisp is great stuff, I grew up on it and have even found a few boxes in recent years. Much better tasting than Captain Crunch. FYI, the Quisp character was inked by the same guy who drew the Bullwinkle and Rocky cartoon.

THE BEST !! Again EASILY a TOP 5 cereal of all time for me. They sell it now, just in smaller boxes. This is a GREAT cereal. Better than Captain Crunch, but I still keep CC in the cabinet.

dammit I cannot FIND quisp in MN which is odd since it seemed as if all the 80s stuff still produced is around these parts.Who made this? General Mills?anyhow I liked it becasue It had an alien on the box at first, but its sweet and good, and I have not once ever cared abt healthy. I adore health food, soybean products, meatless foods, Etc. sure. I also love sugar, cereal, and fattening desserts. So dont judge. Maybe I will find a bowl of Quisp, pour over it a little Soy milk, and I put sugar ON sugared cereals by the way.

You can buy this at Woodmans if you have one, not sure if it's only in Wisconsin.

If you have fond memories of this cereal and can't find the boxed versions any longer, you can find the same cereal from Quaker, and I do mean the same in every way for the cereal itself right down to the saucer shape, among Quaker's budget brands. It's called "Quaker Sweet Crunch" and comes in budget bags. Of course, you won't get the cheeky alien on the box, your memories will have to suffice for that.

Man!! I loved this cereal my sister and I used to love to come home from school and have a bowl of QUISP! Had the fun prizes inside too. Those were the good old days. Wish I could find QUISP! in NM

Only recently started buying this as I found it on sale one day in Shop Rite in NJ. I do not ear cereal every day, however, bought a box and I have to say it was pretty darn good - not too sweet and then again not too hard and cardboard tasting either. never bought it in the 1980's so I hope that they keep it around and that I can find it at Shop Rite.
