Post Rice Krinkles was introduced in 1955. The familiar (and now, un-PC) Asian pitchman, So-Hi, was on boxes, first as a prototype (1960-63), then as an animated cartoon character (on "Linus"). So-Hi was on cereal boxes until 1968 (I believe, due to public criticism). Different, generic characters appeared on boxes for 11 years, when Krinkles was discontinued.
