Description
This oatmeal had "hidden" fruit-based gummy bears in it. The bears were coated in oatmeal dust, which melted off as you spooned through it (after adding hot water, of course).

The cutest idea for kids to eat their oatmeal ever! I wish they'd bring it back! I miss it so much! It was so fun to see the bears appear and they tasted so good with the oatmeal!

I grew up poor so it was usually always generic brand foods in our household. I would see the commercials for Undercover Bears and always wondered what they tasted like. One day when I was like 7 I woke up from a dream thinking we had some so I ran downstairs ready for that yummy breakfast, opened the cupboard like I did in my dream and, no oatmeal. Lol sad and stupid I know, but I never got to taste them! :(

Never heard of this- however- a small handful of gummi bears in your child's instant oatmeal bowl might just be your ticket down memory lane? Pretty inexpensive solution to nostalgic longings.

the best product based on the use of "oatmeal dust" aside from Raisinuts. I remember the commercial too. It had a cartoon bear in a trench coat with a New York accent, obviously trying to keep undercover.

WOW - I am so glad I found this website. For awhile there I thought this cereal was just a figment of my imagination because no one I know remembers this cereal. I absolutely loved this as a kid. My dad bought this for us and would make it for breakfast but when my mom found out that it had gummy bears, she never let us have it again. She said it was too unhealthy. What a shame... it was the best. Oatmeal has never been the same.

YES! I'm not crazy, it did exsist! And oh how I wish it still did! I get cravings for the Undercover bears and adding your own gummie bears to the oatmeal just isn't the same! C'mon general Mills, there are millions of little children of the millennium who have not the pleasure of the gummies in oatmeal experience.

I used to love this oatmeal! I remember how it tastes and the texture of the gummy bears. Memories! It is so good to see other people who remember it too. I wish they still made it.

I hated oatmeal as a child but I remember my mother buying the oatmeal with the gummy bears in it, So what I would do was eat only the gummy bears and leave the oatmeal. lol

I still have the same anger I felt as a kid when my mother told me this oatmeal was no longer available, I can honestly say the taste was great but the texture is what I miss the most from those bears!!!

Quaker makes a oatmeal similar to it but it is supposedly dinosaur eggs and when you add the hot water the gummy dinosaurs appear. It's good but not as good as undercover bears.

They were HONEY flavored gummies if I remember right... not the fruity ones... everyone is saying 'oh just put gummy bears in it' no... not the same... I have tried!

To whomever said 'Just throw gummy bears in your child's instant oatmeal', No. It's NOT the same, as nate mentioned above, the gummies in this oatmeal were extremely unique. It's been nearly 20 years since I last had this incredible oatmeal, but I can STILL remember it now. The gummies would melt as soon as you ate them, they were excellent. I tried the Dinosaur Eggs that I assumed were going to be similar at least to the Undercover Bears oatmeal and it wasn't even close. The eggs were hard and flavorless, like chewing up chalky flavorless vitamins. It's sad when they discontinue a product, especially when it was a huge part of your childhood memories. I remember eating this oatmeal every single morning and before I went to bed. Somebody needs to start a petition to get General Mills to make this again, I just hope it's the exact same ingredients, because it seems to me they did try with the Dinosaur Eggs and it was a failure. I know my son would really enjoy this oatmeal as much as I did when I was a kid, and I want to be able to eat it again. Everyone write General Mills, I've already wrote them twice. All we can do is make suggestions and hope, see where it goes.

I agree Ryan K. I also have tried those Dinosaur Eggs, it's no where near the same. I agree the Undercover Bears does need to come back out. I loved it as a child. It would be a great idea to bring it back.

YES! I see GM is bringing back French Toast Crunch cereal and was wondering how to go about getting them to also bring back Undercover Bears Oatmeal. I loved it as a kid and would buy it weekly if it came back out. My kids might would actually eat oatmeal if they had this. I loved it!!

I have been trying to figure out what this oatmeal was for years! I remember eating this as a little kid- it was this product that began my love for oatmeal! I honestly did not know if this was real, or if I somehow imagined it. I truly miss this oatmeal.

This oatmeal was amazing to say the least. My mom bought these each week when she went grocery shopping. My brother and I would dig through the bags in excitement to find them. She always made sure we had a warm breakfast before going to school on those cold New England mornings. This was such a great breakfast I can still remember the taste. I wish someone would bring it back General Mills should seriously consider doing this.

I Googled 'oatmeal with gummy bears' after reminiscing on a tasty breakfast I used to eat as a child, but couldn't for the life of me recall the name/brand or packaging. This came up and the memories came flooding back even stronger. When did these go away exactly? I've never seen anything like it in decades but it was the only thing that got me enjoying oatmeal as a child. I enjoy oats nowadays in a healthier more 'adult' form, but this is where I was introduced and seemed to be a nice breakfast option for kiddies. Shame it disappeared so soon. So happy to have rediscovered what it actually was though.
