I had 2 pairs of these in high school but do not remember them having a built-in brief like most bathing suits. I did wear them to swim and agree they dried fast but let's just say they weren't for modest guys.

When I was in high school, this guy would sing, "I wear my Sun Britches at night.." instead of the classic Corey Hart song "Sunglasses at Night." It was funny at the time, I guess you just had to be there. :-)

Lifelong Florida boy here. Had a yellow pair and a blue pair and they were essentially all I wore my junior and senior year of high school. Agree with Gatorman, there was no liner, so when you wore them swimming you either had to wear underwear (no thanks) or just kind of let it all hang out. Definitely a fan, wish I could find them now.

No they didn't a swimsuit liner but we always wore them skintight so it didn't really matter. Velcro fly and pocket closures were state of the art at the time. Oh, the memories!

I lived on Panama City Beach during the 80's airbrushing t-shirts. Sun Britches were great, you could go swimming, dry out quick, then go to work at the beach shop. Good times. and they didn't have a liner. Great for diving also.

We all wore them, one buddy of mine had an embarrassing incident with the volume of the velcro when girl watching ...

I had a couple pair of these back in the 80's as well. Been looking for them ever since. Recently I found a very similar swimsuit. Check out Birdwell. Looks identical. Gonna order one for this summer!

I had an orange pair in the early 80s, wore them all summer long. Loved them!

I managed a Sun Britches outlet store near Walt Disney World, Fl. in 1985-1987. The owner lived in So. Fl and would stop by regularly with his manager. Fun job.

They are back, but I sure don't remember them costing as much as they do now. Looks like they are trying to compete again with Sundek.
