Leotards were awesome in the 80s...you could get them at any clothing, dept store. They were fun! And practical to wear as a top with pants or a skirt, cuz they stayed tucked in! I usually wore mine with contrasting colored tights. The only hassle was if ya needed to go to the bathroom, practically had to disrobe first!

I remember leotards so clearly. I had a white one with black pants go with it. It was pretty cool!

It was nice because back then I did dancing and acrobats so I had a bunch and eventually got to wear them to school. I had the same exact one in the posted picture too.

Thong leotards probably did come out in the late 80s, but werent really popular until the early 90s (for exercise wear mostly.) I never cared for thong leotards... the traditional look is way better

The whole point is to leave the leotard exposed over the tights; she's already got the tights covering her down there, anyway. I love 'em (but I would, wouldn't I?) Sometimes I think the (apparently intentional) drabification of exercise wear after then (such as not to scare people off) actually made working out less popular, not more, because you weren't being allowed to have fun anymore. Make things fun and people will respond.

I just can't wait until leotards are back in the mainstream and you can get them everywhere. I wear them all the time with tights under my work clothes because I just love the feeling of how tight they are. But now I have to get them in a few ballet stores around town, and they are just basic colors. all the colorful tights from the 80's are back, bring back the colorful leo's, lol...

I just loved to wear leotards i used to wear a red thong leotard with white meshy tights under. I still wear them when i workout at home but never in public because they are out fashion today but i hope it come back again because they are very comfy to wear.

How nice that leggings are back to the signed, although some argue that I think that discomfort is the most elegant garments for aerobics and yoga and not for everyday use, I hope this fashion again and again imposed forever because this garment does not merit being extinguished I LOVE THE LEOTARDS OF THE 80'S, IT FASHION REVIVAL FOR EVER.

I'm a guy, and I love wearing my leotards, leg warmers, slouchy scrunchy socks, and tights when I do aerobics, and dance. I always loved wearing them since I was a kid and I grew up exercising. I plan on teaching aerobics very soon. Bless you all. Take care.

Revival of the Leotards and tights would be cool.Not only will it help to bring back women to the Gyms, it will be more apealing to the women to work out in. Self confidence is what it is all about. I believe the fashion would be back to stay especially since most Leotards now have a snap croch making it easier to put on and remove. I know most men like to see us clad in Lycra. When I work out in my Tights and Leotards my boyfriend and his friends have told me they appreciate a new flavor to the Gym.

Tights and Leotards should make a come back they are an item of clothing that really make a women mystical without showing anything. It leave you to your imagination.

I agree that leotards should come back in fashion. However, many people don't realize that leotards are for women AND men too! I'm a dancer, but I also work out in my leotard and tights as well. Men: it's okay to wear a basic leotard, so don't be shy.

As a guy, I certainly am not shy to wear a leotard! Especially with tights underneath! I dance and workout also in them. I love retro aerobics, being that I grew up around the trend.

I don't know why they ever went out of style, but they will be back though (you can bet on it). I'm a dancer for a ballet company here on the west coast, and so I'm always around men and women in tights and leotards. So for me, it's like they never went out of style.

I loved wearing a leotard in the 80's and 90's when I was growing up. Doing aerobics in front of the tv and then joining a gym and going to an aerobics class wearing a pair of shimmer tights and leotard. It just made me feel healthy, fit, fantastic and in away very sexy. I have to admit i have a collected a few over the years and love to wear them around the house. I hope they bring them back in the gyms again so I can wear them in public.

I always liked seeing fit women wearing leotards and tights, especially glossy and shimmery, back during the heyday of the aerobics era...so very sexy. As a young boy it wasn't the easiest thing or correct thing to do as far as wearing but I would at least fantasize about having the opportunity to be in these clothes, wondering what they feel like to wear. My curiosity and excitement led to trying on a long sleeve dark blue leotard and matching tights in my early teens which was really enjoyable. Later in life my interest continued and got brave enough to start buying my own clothing, including short/long sleeve, tank, and strap leotards. I only really liked them if paired with a nice pair of tights or even sheer to waist pantyhose. I have bought leotards in ballet stores and pantyhose at boutiques. The ladies at the hosiery stores would bring out samples for me touch, they have always been helpful and a few have even seen me wearing. Shaving my legs to avoid unsightly hairs underneath the hosiery and more importantly to be able to feel the fabric hugging my skin like women experience was also something I have done. It is a very erotic feeling to be encased in a form fitting leotard, suntan glossy tights along with leg warmers or scrunchie socks which I think accentuates my athletic body and long legs. Whether wearing for workouts or pleasure, I think the leotard/tights combination is a very sexy look as well as erotic. I think it would be amazing to wear together with some like minded ladies.

Leotards can be worn by men. There were for men when they first came out. Inventor jules leotard. I wear for ballet black leotard with black tights or white. But its a shame the ladys in my class don't come in leotards. Leotards can be worn for many sports so come on men Wear a leotard and don't worry what some people say.

I have to agree that in the 80's and 90's the leotards were very popular.I as a guy wore leotards when I took aerobics classes and also in my ballet class. I still wear leotards today for my work outs at home and once in a while I wear one for a class at the gym but mostly no I wear leggins at the jim.

My daughter who does ballet suggested that I get an leotard/body suit to help keep my plumbers butt cover when I bend over, it works ,but I also started to wear them as I work out at the gym , the compression,is great ,and I sweat alot more , u just love , them , and in cold nights I wear a long sleeve one for pajamas

I loved wearing leotards and tights and I still do. I wear leotards every day to work out at home. I take a ballet class and wear leotards and tights. I used to take an aerobics class in the 80's and always wore a leotard and tights. I go to the gym a lot and I wear leggins mostly but for Yoga, Pilates and Barre class I wear a unitard. The unitard is great because I don't have to worry about my leggins slipping down or my shirt riding up revealing my panties. I do hope the leotards come back because I have over 60 of them from the 80's that I still wear.

I wear glossy leotards mostly with glossy tights for my workouts. Am in a aerobics class and wear my leotards with tights or a glossy unitard. Being a str8 guy is the only place have found to be accepted as a guy wearing. And all in class love that I wear and get many compliments on my outfits.

I love leotards & tights, in all the bright colours. When everyone wore them, the classes were filled with colour. They are totally practical to workout in as they stretch easily in all directions. I still have many & wear them to aerobic & yoga classes every week. Bring them back
