Always wanted a pair, but never got one. My mom was never one for 'trendy', or falling for the line 'but ALL the kids are wearing them...' I though they were the coolest things going...

I loved Capezio's, I had a pair of the jazz oxfords that I wore my junior year. There was a Capezio store here in our local mall until about 8 years ago.

Err, '80s, no! I went to high school in the '60s and that is ALL we wore - and, of course, Weejuns!

Capezio "whip". I believe that was the style. Available in black/red or all white (i had them both ofcourse). Wore them with Z Cavaricchi pants as well as the shorts. And lets not forget the white Edwin jeans... :)

It was a magical place. I walked in there desperate in search of a job in the Fall of 1979. They offered me assistant security Guard. I took it. The clothes was the fines and the hippest. I saw rock stars and movie stars checking their bags with me on a daily basis. Within that year I was promoted to sell man in the shoe department where I met Madonna before she was famous and the pretenders and Devo and I even sold a pair of slipper to an elderly lady who later I found out was Anais Ninn, the author. I ended falling in love with the accessory buyer and I was promoted to accessory designer. My creations were reviewed in the Women wear Daily paper. I became a trail blazer all in that 1 1/2 years in Capezio in the Village. How could I ever forget that place!? it was a blessing from heaven that guided me through and through in what I call the most exciting two years of my existence on earth....

I worked with Victor at Capezio's! I was eventually manager of the men's department. I agree with Victor - it was an incredible time in my life! I was there for a little over a year. Years later I ran into Victor in Paris!
