the Levi's California Straight Jeans did not have a white patch on the back. the had a cloth type patch on the back waist band. and the back pockets were cut in a smaller size then your regular levis jeans. I still have a pair.

The Levis with the square, white patch on the back pocket, we called Levis Super Straights. THE jean to have when I was in 6th and 7th grades. Of course, they had to be worn with my cropped Panama Jack t-shirt and my duffle-style nylon purse that had the mini-version keychain on it. Mine was navy with a tri-colored unicorn on it! SWEET!

Yes Levi super straights...I was just wondering what those were. I never bought anything else in 6th & 7th grade. Yes they had a white square fabric patch on the pocket. I bought mine at Spiece. Back then they only came in whole womens sizes 3/5/7/9/etc. No waist size. I wish Levis would make these again!! Anyone know where we could get these still? I've googled, nothing on EBay either:(

I found a pair in my parents attic. They have never been worn and still have the tags on them. They are a size 13. I guess I could sell them on ebay. Any idea how much I could get for them?

I loved the Levis Californians. I had several pairs. They were higher cut than the 601s (ie. longer in the fork),and had a flat cord fabric. They were so comfortable. I wish they would re-release them.

They also had some with the maroon Levi Strauss & Co. On the back right smaller than usual pocket. Still have a pair. Loved the 501's also.

the grey levi californian with a white t shirt was pretty much our senior high school uniform 1975-1977. they should re-issue.

I absolutly loved my California Super Straights. The best pair of jeans I ever owned. I like to tell my kids how these new skinny jeans they have out have nothing on my Super Straights. I agree with you all. Please re-release them. They would make a killing now-a-days.

At various stages I had grey, sand (which were pretty much white), brown and a pale blue, which we were allowed to wear to school in Western Australia back in the day. I'd wear them again if they were re-released for sure.

I bought my very first pair of Levis - blue Californians back in 78 at a barbers shop in S.A which also sold clothes - mainly Levi Jeans. It was called the Blue Prince in the Ingle Farm Shopping Centre in Adelaides North Eastern suburbs. We boys back then wore the blue or brown Californians and the girls had the bone or cream coloured, although I did get a pair of those in year 8. The high school uniform was grey pants so it was cool to be in the grey Californians. Bring em back I say.

THAT also reminds me. I also had a pair of levis sneakers and a western style levis shirt which I wore all the time with my denim levi jeans. the kids all used to try and rip your levi tag off each others jeans , orange ones, orange blank, red and red blank. A red tag was a prized score. I even had a black one with white lettering. I loved the old Levis ads back then too. I have never worn any other brand of jeans since I was a kid. old habits die hard.

I had a bone colored pair of Californians back in Adelaide, South Ausralia in the very early 70's and loved them. Imagine my excitement when I visited the San Francisco Levi store later last year and there they were in the vintage section of the store. They were expensive but I bought them in a heartbeat along with a vintage pair of 1954 and 1967 denim Levi's!!! They are sweet. Don't know if I'll ever wear them though. Probably will after it gets the best of me...

I would love to find those jeans again I have used every search option. I wish we could still get them. I don't know if I would want Levis to remake cause I sure they just wouldn't be the same. Something would not be right. I would Def buy them just to see.

didnt wear them in the 70s at school, but wish i did because they were cool and popular . was too busy wearing the amco bogarts , remember them ? . i started wearing levi californians starting in 1980 , and had grey , blue , brown and beigey , but my favourite was the black pair . they also made green , yuk , not that many seen wearing these . these jeans were great as they did not stretch out of shape like denim can , and they always had red tabs with white writing , until they stuffed them up toward the mid eighties , when they started making them with white tabs with red writing , and were not cut quite the same . they also started making them in a good quality cord in the eighties and they had a white tab with black writing . i also hated the rivets losing their golden shine as the rivets made them stand out , especially the black pair , and back then you would always tuck your shirt in .

Just posted the set of New Old Stock Juniors Size 9 Super Straights on EBay.(see Johns comments from 2015) They are 25" Waist / 34" Inseam. I know..tall right. I think it has something to do with the high waist? I assume the only came in one length?
