Description
Sex: Both
Type of clothing: Shoes
When it was popular: 198?
Description: I'm not 100% sure but I think "decks" are the common name given to shoes like the Sebago docksides. In fact, they're boating shoes. And "docksides" was a sort of trade mark from Sebago. But regardless of the manufacturer, that kind of shoes was called "decks" (mainly because you were supposed to wear them while walking on the decks of boats).

And yet, I still see people wearing these, although I think the brand is different (converse?)

They look like (and remind me of) Vans. My brother had 'em when he used to skateboard.

Decks are the white sneakers you slip on, no laces. The skippies had laces. Keds sold them in canvas or leather.
