Description
Sex: predominantly female
Type of clothing: Clothes
When it was popular: 80s
Description: Girls wore big shirt in general--t-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, etc. that were several sizes to large. They were worn with the standard skin-tight jeans or stirrup pants, or the ever popular denim mini-skirt; an extra-wide belt was often worn over the shirt. In the early 80s, if the shirt in question was a sweatshirt it was likely to have the collar ripped or cut off so that it could be pulled to one side to expose a shoulder.

Yep - had to have these. They were comfortable and with the right accessories (Big Belt) even dressy with your skin tight stirrups!! Gawd I cant imagine wearing those pants now. I have seen it at WalMart places and it looks really bad.

Still have a couple. Both black. One has neon paint splatter design in different colors. Still wear 'em too.

Oversized shirts and stirrup pants... that pretty much sumed up half my 6th grade wardrobe. My favorite was a long-cut sweatshirt that came in a blinding shade of day-glow pink with black polka-dots. And I had two pairs of slochy socks to go with it (of course I wore both pairs at the same time).
