I have a black watch plaid button down shirt made in India that has these threads. I always get so many compliments on it when I wear it. I forgot where I got it, but it was in 1980 something.

The lines of metallic thread were called lurex and they were really popular in the late 70s especially for men's and women's shirts/blouses and for women's dresses, usually in thin, natural fabrics like cottons or linen. They were really subtle, not too flashy, just thin lines of metallic thread that would glint a little if the light hit them right.

I remember these shirts! I loved them in the 80's. They seem to make a comeback every 5 or 6 years and I just can't bring myself to jump back on that bandwagon.
