Description
Sex: Female
Type of clothing: shoes
When it was popular: late 80's
Description: Closed toe and closed back sandals made of woven strips of leather(I think), usually in white or brown. I wore them when I was a little kid and I remember them being really, really uncomfortable and blister-inducing! They were hard to get on and off and would dig into your achilles tendon area - I used to have to put a bandaid on my ankle to keep them from rubbing against it.

didn't one episode of Friends feature a flashback of Chandler wearing them and Monica dropping the knife and cutting off his pinkie toe when they were in high-school?

I wore mine until they were practically in pieces. All the straps had come loose and my mther kept begging me to throw them out!

THE thing to buy down in Mexico. Huaraches. They were horribly uncomfortable at first until you broke them in by massaging the back heel over and over.
