I am having a 40th birthday party-80's theme. Back in the 80's Forenza sweaters were my favorite. I looking for one so I can wear to my party with a pair of Tretorn tennis shoes.

Oh yes, vintage 1983. Had to have at least 4 and a dozen different take tops to layer underneath. They started out in all the brightest colors and the next year introduced some pastels. I remember wearing a teal forenza with bright yellow tank underneath with my converse tennis shoes and star shoe laces. With acid washed jeans of course. Sooo cool. I've actually seen some similar styles in stores recently.

I just did a search and found the article about The Limited bringing the Forenza sweater back. It's not the same style. It's much more fitted and doesn't have the super deep V neck. So, basically, it's a cable knit sweater, slimmer, different styling, with the Forenza label. Hmm. http://mylifeonandofftheguestlist.blogspot.com/2009/08/limited-holiday-2009-preview.html

I had several and still love to wear them. I want to buy some new ones. Is that possible and if so where can I get them? If I can't get them now then why not? They're wonderful.

I've been looking to the ends of the earth to find an 80s forenza sweater!!! If anyone knows where I could find/buy one that would be awesome! Please email me if you know of anyone or anywhere that has one they'd be willing to sell. My email is: emmabylsma@icloud.com

I think this post is due for a FORENZA update. I've been obsessing about all the clothes the older girls wore when I was a pre-tween from 1982-1986. You can find FORENZA all over Poshmark, the sweaters are out there. I'm disappointed, yet unsurprised, to learn that the FORENZA brand with the Italian designer "Mia Pia" is a marketing trick created by Lex Wexner for the Limited. Also, the sweaters are 100% acrylic. Can't wear acrylic, which is too bad because synthetic material is the (cheapest) way to get the vibrant colors of the 80s. There are gems out there, though! Look out for the FORENZA high waisted denim shorts and pants.
