I used to love my Chamin de fer jeans! They were hot! I wish I could find a pair today. My fav pair were low hiphuggers that laced up the front and the back. Very Sexy. Oh to be 16 again!

Thats soo funny. I too loved my Chemindefer jeans. I had overalls and the chemindefers that zipped all the way around from the croch to the butt. And as tight as I could get them. I wish I had a pair of those. In fact I was looking for some when I found this. I have no idea if I spelled the name right.

OMG I had these jeans! I had the ones that had a flap that buttoned up on each side in the front. Sooooo tight! I think I was 12 years old and a size 0, LOL

I loved the pants too! Kept them until I was 19 and got married. My husband thought they were too hot and threw them out. Unknown to me until they were gone. Well he is gone now too and I have collected two pairs of the sailor jeans, two pairs of the jeans that button up the front with the top button being unbuttoned intentionally and I have a pair of jeans with embroidered back pockets. I am so thrilled, they still look really hot on. The funny thing is the sizing is so different now days. I still a size 3, but in the chemin de fer jeans it is closer to a size 5. I love them!

two most popular styles were the "sailor" pants with 4-6 buttons up each hip and the "tuxedo pants" 4 buttons straight up the front with a 5th button at the top that was undone and a buckle in the back. The overalls were also very popular. The company went out of business in 1985.

How much do you think a pair of Chemin De Fer jeas would be worth now?

My sister had that pair that buttoned up the front with te top button unbuttoned! Very cool. I wish the company would start up again. I recently bought a pair of sailor jeans from Victoria Secret that button up on each hip. They are cool and sexy and remind me of Chemin de Fers! I would love to sun across some at a thrify store one day.

WOW! I grew up in the mid 70's and into the 80's, woman those were the best fitting jeans to this date, my eyes would glue to a woman with them on, so all of you are right by looking sexy....

I liked the ones that laced in the front in lieu of a zipper and they also had laced up the back. I have never been aboe to find jeans that fit as well as Chemin De Fer jeans did.

I loved my Chemin de Fers! I had the 'dick teasers' the ones that had the four buttons up with the top one undone... they fit great but were so comfortable. Think I had two in coorderoy and one in blue jean. Ah... now those were sylin' pants!

Check out www.ragcityblues.net They have the original 80's lace front, zip around, buckle back and single button front jeans. They just came out with a new version of the zip around with front pockets and a sailor jean but not like the Chemin De Fer. I loved the Chemin De Fer sailor pant. They had the best fit. I just ordered the blue denim brown cord lace front jeans and love them! They fit just like I remembered. Enjoy shopping ladies!

Chemin De Fer is no longer. Every girl I grew up with in Los Angels were heart broken when the company closed in 1985. We locals were able to get them for a short time after, I guess till what jeans were already out there slowly just went away. I remember taking my Jim and stocking up on every pair I could get my hands on. It was a very sad day in the jean world.
