Description
Sex: ?
Type of clothing: Clothing
When it was popular: 1989
Description: They were a base color, like pink or blue. Wherever your body was hot (sweaty), the shirt would change color in that area to orange (pink shirt) or pink/purple (blue shirt). I think there were also green ones.

These were cool in theory, but sort of embarassing to wear...especially as a high school student, where EVERYTHING embarasses you! The arm pits were always heat activated, so people knew you were sweating. Also, if you washed and dried them too often, the colors were permanently mixed, like an ugly tie dye shirt.

I owed a green one! Wow, the memories. My mom always washed it in cold water so it never faded and always changed colours!

I had a XL peach one that turned yellow I think? When it stopped changing colors I cut the bottom off to make a short shirt to layer over my long tank tops, remember THAT style?

I had a purple one that turned pink... except... there were two particular spots that ALWAYS turned pink, and it wasn't the armpits... so embarrassing...

There was also one that had a man on the front with jeans, sunglasses and a jacket on and he stripped down to a t-shirt and boxers when the "hyper color"-ness went into effect

I fell prey to a lot of trends but never this one. I thought they were cheesy and uncool from the get go (surprisingly). All of the kids in school seemed to have them though.

I still have mine after 17yrs, it still works as good as the day I got it. I like to pull it out every now and again to show my younger friends for kicks.

One of my friend's in High School had a couple of these t-shirts. I thought they were pretty cool, until she wore a pair of shorts and lets just say they really worked. I couldn't stop laughing...not so cool for shorts, if the t-shirt armpits and heat make you embarrassed.

I never did own one of these but they were fun to play with on other people. I remember they ended up looking kind of washed out/faded pretty quickly. Still, definitely a time warp item.

I had the purple 1 on the left. I was a small awkward underdeveloped girl so I never had the warm spots or hand prints on the boobs. However in the lunch line people would splash cool water from the lunch trays on HyperColor shirts and it would make dark spots all over the shirt. Then people would lick their fingers and smudge the shirt. A few years later, when they weren't cool anymore and began to sell them a cheapy stores, I gave the shirt to the Goodwill. Even with the abuse, I liked my shirt.
