The Mods and the Skaters used to wear winos. We got them at Kmart or the army surplus store in town.

We called these Croaker Sacks. They came in black, navy blue, or brown and were almost always lace-ups. The t-straps, like in this photo, were rare. They were almost exclusively worn by gang members and rough kids in the 70s in Los Angeles.

This was an everday vatos shoes back in my 80's!! The original vato shoes before the Nike Cortez took over. Used to rock these Winos with my Cascades and creased pants when i lived in East LA up until the early 2000's. Orale. Check this out, for any old school dudes still out there today in 2020 and going you cold find these shoes at Amazon or Ebay for a good price. Still cheap as hell though, these shoes were never considered a highy quality brand like nike or something. If anything all they are, are just extremely affordable and goes grate with a pair of some nice clean jeans. I used to find these in my mini marts back in the day before they sold them at K-marts. Kmart company closed down some years back so it was hard to find these shoes anywere besides sawpmeets which even those vatos stopped selling them. The manufacture of these Wino shoes in which is a company in Brooklyn New York has a store on Ebay.com. Those are legit the same ones I used to wear as a youngster waaay back in the 1980's. For anyone familiar with Greenspans located in South Gate CA, They also sell many pairs in the store there. Those vatos still have loads of boxes which are from the 90's still sealed in original packaging. They're also the only store in the world where you could legit still find original Cascade polo shirts from the 1960-1990's still sealed in original packaging!! Place is a whole candy store for old school vatos that sell clothes you don't see being made anymore. Would highly recommend to check them out! Peace to my peoples! To anyone who reads this have a very firme day! Y que viva la Raza!!
