I remember seeing a lot of Japanese flags in teenagers' windows in the 80's for some reason, like my older cousins and their friends. Now I'm wondering why that was because none of them were Japanese American or seemed to be particularly interested in Asian culture. Maybe a pure fad? I dunno!
