Description
Sex: Female
Type of clothing: Accessories
When it was popular: 1977-1985
Description: These came out in the mid seventies, but they were HUGE then. The seventies version was about 4 inches long and an inch in diameter and they came in flavors like Dr. Pepper and 7Up. They had a string so you could hang them around your neck. The 80's version was much smaller, Chapstick-sized and came in multi-packs(3-6 in a long clear plastic tube)and a lot more flavors. They made great gifts for your friends because they were cheap and it looked like you were getting so many! At Christmas the tube was shaped like a candy cane.

Megan: yes, I remember the ads in Young Miss magazine for the three kinds of ... well, I don't know if they were actual Lip Smackers, but yeah, there was a roll-on, a stick, and a wand. :)

Yes I remember the ones with a rollerball applicator! I threw mine out only a few years ago and wish I hadn't. I had ones flavoured pineapple, mint and strawberry; they smelt (and tasted) delicious; and the rollerball was lovely and cool to the touch. Can anyone remember what brand these were? (I'm based in the UK)

@Carrie & Megan: Yes I remember, they don't sell them in stores anymore...go figure but you can try getting them online. It was called N.Y.C. Roll-On Lip Gloss.

Ah. Lip Smackers. I started wearing them in 1983, when i was 15 and still wear them today. (Somethings, you never outgrow)They smell divine, make my lips glow like jewels, and moisturize beautifully. I miss the flavors/shades/scents from the past, like Cherry and Candy Apple and Tangerine
