Description
Sex: unisex
Type of clothing: jeans
When it was popular: very early 80's
Description: These were wide legged jeans with a VERY tapered ankle, so small you could barely get your foot through it. they did not have the luxury of the later guess jeans with a zipper at the ankle. They were a reaction, I assume, to bellbottoms, and preceded the popularity of Levi 501's following the release of "the preppy handbook".

um, my lawman jeans were super skinny ankle jeans with ankle zippers on both sides. mid-80's. everyone had them. i never saw the "wide leg with tapered ankle" style you mentioned.

I bought a pair of Lawman jeans in 1986. Even though they are showing their age, they are still mt favorite jeans.

I only remember Lawman jeans from the early 90's myself, and by then they were pretty standard fit. It seemed like their ad campaign at that time was higher class and appealed to college girls and hip moms, that's the people I knew who wore Lawman jeans during that time. It sounds like they had a different image in the 80's though...very interesting!

I had a pair of those exact jeans you're talking about in the early 80's...Lawman jeans in the wide-tapering-to-narrow style. If I remember correctly, they were the "reverse silhouette" cut. :-)

My lawman jeans had "pegged" legs with the long 'v' down the leg with a rivet at the bottom. everyone had them.
