Description
Sex: Female
Type of clothing: shirts
When it was popular: 1986-88
Description: These shirts could be found at the Limited... they came in all colors (though red was the most popular) and had 10 tiny buttons down the front, about halfway down the shirt. There were knockoffs everywhere, but you weren't cool unless you had the original Outback Red brand (the tags were on the outside of the shirt in the back).

I wish I could find some of those 10-button shirts again. They were so comfortable and well-made. I would even accept used ones. I wish they would make the brand again, but there's not much chance of that happening. I also really liked the OR leather items at the Limited. I wish I had bought more of those items back in the '80's. I do have a gorgeous OR cream linen shirt which is identical to one worn by Meryl Streep in "Out of Africa". Sigh. Those were the days!

The Limited does carry Outback Red again! You should check it out in the store. There are some really great styles.

OMG, I forgot completely about these! I had a bunch, in probably half a dozen colors. Loved the red one, of course, worn with pinstriped jeans, slouchy socks and white leather Keds.

Remember, they also had shirts that were wide necked, had about 5 wooden looking buttons, and we're cuffed at the waist?
