Ugh! I remember this look all too well! I lived in Florida while Miami Vice was on tv & saw way too many guys trying to look like Sonny Crockett! lol

I always admired the Miami Vice fashion as a teen in the mid and late 80's, it just seemed to attract the cutest girls. It's a shame around '91 or '92 guys traded in their Miami Vice pastels and deck shoes for Nirvana plaids and Doc Martens, fashion just hasn't been the same!

Oh and I agree with Abraixas, I'm tired of the Reggaeton/hiphop AKA wannabe hard look, BRING BACK THE 80's!

I like the look of men suit and fashion back then. Now in the year 2000 the men fashion look more sloopy with teens pants are too loose and coming down their butt and wearing only extra large t-shirts. What happen to descent suit and tie? Bring back the descent look of a male look from the 80's again.

I had bought a Miami Vice sports coat ... white all cotton, super light, no liner ... was the best dam sports coat I ever had ... Never sweated in it ... I wish I could find em ... also later got a black, and tan one.

The Miami Vice look (T-shirt under a boxy, unlined, unconstructed sport coat and often white or pastels) epitomizes the 80's but was a short-lived fad for only a few years in the mid-80's. It was influenced by new wave and pop musicians like Duran Duran, Hall and Oates, David Bowie, Hewey Lewis; and even Eddie Van Halen wore a loose black and red blazer over his trademark "NO BOZOS" T-shirt before Miami Vice came along. What was more important than the style was that males - young and older - actually made an effort to be dressy and took pride in their appearance. Unfortunately, that was the last renaissance of men's fashion. Then came gangsta rap with cheesy nylon track suits, and grunge with flannel plaid shirts, torn up jeans, and hoodies. Guys turned in their sport coats and started dressing more like panhandling hobos.

Don Johnson was so hot. I'd love it if guys still dressed like that.
