Type of clothing: skirt with attached shorts under/in back

When it was popular: 1985-89

Description: Began as tennis attire, basically white shorts with a skirt panel that usually buttoned across the front. During the spandex/leggings craze, they evolved to ruffled/gauzy neon skirts (the shorter the better)with usually black bike shorts/stretch pants underneath, attached at the waistband. The skirts fell apart in the wash, but the bike shorts could be cut off-I kept mine for nostalgia, plus they're really comfotable PJ's!
