Oh, man. I had a red painters cap (no flaps) with the cursive Coca-Cola logo on both sides - and there was never a more comfortable hat in the world. I'd pay $40 for one or three of those today! Can't find anything but the crappy tyvek disposables. Oh, well. Anyone knows: dallasvista at gmail com

I also called the ones with the two flaps Legionaire's hats, cuz I guess they were like the hats the French Legion would wear. To me, painters caps were just the cheap white hats with an elastic band around the bottom that I would flip the lid up on and write something like "Mosh" or "Not" or "Skate" on.
