Petticoats were soo fun in the 80s. If ya wanted to stand out in a crowd, petticoats would do it. You always noticed someone wearing one, either as a skirt or under a skirt. Plus they were fun at the clubs and parties to dance in! Spinning around like a maniac, your petticoat was eye candy out on the dance floor. Back in the androgynous 80s I would wear them often..all colors..to clubs and concerts and parties. And to this day Ill still wear them to 80s theme parties and shows. (Yes thats me in the picture!)

I had a fab red petticoat that I wore out to clubs in the late 80s! It was soo fun! Friends would often borrow it from me.

Loved petticoats (or the cheaper lace ruffle sewn just under the hem version), especially with ribbon woven through the eyelet. I think we were influenced by our fav girl program Little House on the Prairie with this trend. Ribbons in our french braided hair, too.
