Sex: Both
Type of clothing: Shirt
When it was popular: 1982-1983?
Description: The in thing was to have a Ralph Lauren polo shirt under a Ralph Lauren button-down oxford. Both had to have the polo player on the left chest or you were just a wanna-be. At each for the oxford and another for the polo, most at my high school were wanna-bes.

I'm embarrased to say I had several Ralph Lauren Polo oxford cloth shirts with button down dollars in the early 80s. The one I remember best was a greyish purple color. I also had Polo insignia socks, wool. And pink Polo shirts were worn by males and females at the time, with no stigma attached. I would drive all the way to the rich part of town so I could buy mine from the real Polo Shop. Seems naff now.
