We called that "pegging" or peg-leg. I caught on that fad in 87/88. My dad recalls doing that as a teenager in HS. He was born in 1950.

YES, that was a trend when I was in high school Central VA. Everybody used to do it. Looking back, it looked SOOO SILLY!!! I am glad that trend is over.

popular in California in 1982 and 1983. You would actually fold the jean over lengthwise at the ankle and then roll up several times. Always worn with penny loafers, argyle vests, oxford shirts and/or le coste polo shirts

I LIKED the pegging look. Especially with no socks and Sperry Top Siders or Keds with no laces.
