Keds don't last long at all.

At my school, Keds were very cool especially with the preppy set. However, white was just the beginning for us. It was considered very cool to have Keds in just about every color and pattern imaginable to go with every outfit. I had several colors and a pair of plaid Keds that didn't go with anything very well but of course I wore them anytime I could. This is terrible but I remember thinking it was lame to wear FAKE Keds without the little blue rubber piece on the back. I didn't realize some kids might not be able to afford the real thing or maybe their parents were unwilling to buy them. It was later cool to wear Keds without laces and if a hole was worn in the toe that was NOT a bad thing at all.
