Description
Sex: Female
Type of clothing: MULTIPLES
When it was popular: 1985-1987
Description: I'm still in awe of how they had entire STORES of nothing but MULTIPLES! Basically there are tons of differents "pieces" that can all be combined with pretty much any other "Multiple" in existence. All were some sort of thin, stretchy cotton/? blend and weren't exactly full of shape... The classic multiple look would be the skirt or pant with a tunic top accessoried with the "everything" tube thing that was used as the belt (among 15 other ideas that they had for it...) They weren't just popular among a certain age either - Grandmothers, Mothers, & Daughters all had it on...

YES! I had forgotten about multiples! I had the coolest tunic shirt with the longest sleeves EVER! I guess you could use it as a belt too by just wrapping & wrapping the sleeves or something! And matching "parachute pants" that were full at the top, but tapered at the ankle so they ruched up a LOT. Kewl!

Oh My GOD! My friends and I still laugh about this "clothing of the future." It was a skirt, sash, tube top, belt, turban...sky's the limit! I remember these being sold at Daytons, but Target had their own brand called "Units."

Oh geez...my mom went crazy over these because she thought they were so cute, I had a ton of them. Mostly in tuquoises and orange-yikes...the pictures make me sad now!

I used to LOVE my multiples! Still have them packed away - white, black and olive green. We all thought we were so cool then LOL
