Description
Sex: Male & Female
Type of clothing: Minnetonka Moccasins
When it was popular: 1984-1987
Description: I just saw how they're BACK (2005)!! There wasn't a kid in school who wasn't sporting their Minnetonka Moccasins. Quite impressive considering that boys primarily loved athletic shoes during this particular era. The 1st popular ones were earlier 80's & they had the classic "native american" beading on them & most likely tassels.. Then you HAD to have the "unisex" ones with the rubber nubs on the bottom (like driving mocs). AND you had better make coilys with the tassels...or you just weren't wearing them right.

I specifically remembered that if you were into the heavy metal scene that, if you were cool, that you'd wear the knee-high ones that laced up. I'm guily...I did own a pair of black ones. They were very comfortable, too.

**hangs head** I still have a black pair of the driving mocs in my closet. They're just too comfortable to get rid of.

Minnetonka mocs were popular in the late 80's to the 90's. Now 2012 they're back in style. You can find them in most shoe stores. Driving mocs and booties.
