I remember really thin silk shirts with big shoulder pads being popular in the mid-80s with extra long shirttails intended to be worn untucked. The fabric was so thin that you could see the shape and attachments of the shoulder pads. Too thin and filmy for me.

i had a similar thing happen to me in college. i wore a cream satin blouse out one night, and it wasn't that uncommon in the 70's and 80's to go braless (as i was that night). i also wasn't wearing a coat and it started misting by when we got there. there was a short line to get in and by the time we made it in, it had made my blouse totally see through! the bouncer liked it, he let me in without a cover charge, but i spent the first 10 min in the bathroom before i came out.

I have one in black. No light colored ones for me. I knew what could happen ( see sara's comment above).
