Description
These pop tarts had apple filling with the white frosting. They make cinamon apple now but not even close to the old apple pop tarts...

They were called Dutch Apple. I loved them because they were apple flavored, not too much cinnamon. Don't like strong cinnamon flavor.

My mom loved the old apple Pop-Tarts, too, but she says every once in a while you can find a store brand that tastes a lot more like them than the new Apple Cinnamon or Apple Streudel.

Dutch Apple poptarts remind me of saturday mornings watching the snorks and ms pack man with my self made delicious breakfast. Those were my absolute fave and I have not clue why they were discontinued!! I gave up looking for them years ago. = _ (

Dutch Apple Pop-Tarts were the best flavor of Pop-(arts. Why they were discontinued, who knows. Like a lot of discontinued foods, if only we'd known, we could have stocked-up!!
Tina - June 23, 2012 - Report this comment
please bring back the dutch apple pop-tarts they have to many weird flavors these days. that one was my favorite along with strawberry.
Hey Now - August 14, 2012 - Report this comment
great flavor! They need to bring it back!
jo - August 20, 2012 - Report this comment
Seriously, bring them back!! Best Flavor. Why is it that all the good things are discontinued without the consumers input!!!

My boyfriend and I were both 80's kids. I grew up on the west coast, him on the east. However we both have fond memories of delicious Dutch apple poptarts. It took this google search for me to realize they were "Dutch" but boy they were the best! I just bought a limited edition American Apple pie poptarts- hoping! But nope. Just same ol crappy apple Streusel flavor. :(
V - October 14, 2012 - Report this comment
I, also, got the Apple pie ones hoping it was similar to Dutch Apple. :(

Surprised but pleased to see so many in agreement on this subject, and so recent too. I agree they should bring them back.
Rb - November 12, 2012 - Report this comment
It figures the best things are allways discontinued
DB - November 29, 2012 - Report this comment
Guranteed, if they brought the Dutch Apple PopTart back, stock would increase tremendously and could do away with 75% of the other flavors since they are garbage. Just keep the fruit and frosted fruit flavors. DUTCH APPLE POPTARTS ARE DELICIOUS AND NUTRITIOUS!!! Many a times I've enjoyed just out of the toaster with a glass of cold milk, or with some ice cream. It is a universal dessert that everyone loves!
Tom - January 25, 2013 - Report this comment
Great point, DB. The stock would explode if they brought these back. Funny how they make so many "fake" Pop Tarts" now ah days, but there was nothing like the originals.

Dutch apple pop tarts were the best! I have been looking for them for years. They just don't make em like they used to.
Rick - April 28, 2013 - Report this comment
It turns out that there was nothing 'Dutch' about them, and that's when Kellogg's problems with the Commerce Department and K Street trial lawyers began. Ultimately, they realized it would be more cost effective to discontinue the brand. For more on this I suggest you read John Paul's, 'Justice in America: the REAL story behind the disappearance of the Dutch Apple Pop Tart'.

Frosted Dutch Apple Pop Tarts were my favorite. Be nice if they brought them back. And not with sprinkles on them either.

I am 50 years old and for the past 20? 30? years, every time I walk the Pop Tart aisle at the grocery store I take a hopeful look for their re-appearance. Hundreds of moments of wasted searching followed by subtle disappointment. I have spoke of the legend often times to my two, now grown children. Oh how they've missed out. The Dutch Apple Pop Tart was a wonderful thing.

I haven't been able to find the Dutch Apple Pop Tart brand in a very long time but occasionally I will come across a box of apple pop tarts in the store brand. I love them because they never seem to have frosting, which I don't like. Apple is my favorite flavor but it's been awhile even since I found a store brand. Used to get them at Dollar General (Clover Valley brand) or Walmart (Great Value).

Stupid move on mfg behalf. The best pop tarts ever made. I'd beat up my siblings to keep them from their share. They were great eating with dry apple jacks after smokin out ! Maybe with an ice oatmeal cookie too. Bring em back !

I do not buy pop tart's anymore! Can't find the apple so I do not want any!

Had a random moment today just thinking about Dutch Apple Pop Tarts. Believe it or not, I found them on Amazon shipping from the UK. Takes several weeks to get in and they are pricey, but from the reviews I read, they taste just like we remember them to be. I ordered some so we will see. Can't wait! Sad to say I am 46 yrs old and I am excited to get a pop tart...the memories alone are worth it!

Oh please bring back our Dutch Apple Pop Tarts. I too look wistfully through the grocery pop tart shelf year after year hoping to see that familiar red and green box that Mom used to bring home but instead have to settle for raspberry. =-(
kathy - June 20, 2016 - Report this comment
bring back the original apple pop tarts, they were the best. With all these other flavors they come up with you would think that they could just make a simple apple flavor..I cannot find apple even in the supermarket brands.. tired off all of these strange flavor combos or super sweet flavors
John - July 07, 2016 - Report this comment
Grew up on the frosted apple pop tarts. They constantly keep coming up with new flavours and combinations so why not give us old timers a break and bring them back even if only for a limited time.

Found an image of a Dutch Apple Pop Tarts box from 1975. Back panel had a mail-in offer for a Flip Flipper (like a Frisbee, only smaller). It was 85 cents and one box top or proof of purchase. I do believe Kellogg's still had Milton the Toaster (Bill Schallart) in TV commercials at the time.

I too LOVED the Dutch Apple Poptart. I recently bought a box of the Frosted Orchard Apple. Not like the old ones but pretty good. Especially nice and hot with peanut butter spread over the top. lol
