They still have the beef n' cheddars with bacon here in Indiana. Im sure you could add lettuce and tomato!

I use to work for Arby's back in the Day. Here's the original Bac'N Chedder Deluxe recipe..Image an Arby Melt crossed with a BLT. Top Bun, (crown), Mayo. Then lettuce & tomato. Then Regular Bacon. Then 2.0 ozs of Roast Beef. Bottom Bun, (Heel), one squirt of cheese sauce. There you go, folks. A blast from the past.

I think zombie_carnage has it right. If I recall, the lettuce was shredded. I always got it without tomato. There was an Arby's on campus and this became my favorite sandwich at a fast food place. "Heart Attack Special" but I still wish they would offer it today. Today's Beef Bacon n Cheddar can not come close to the Deluxe

Yes, it was a poppy seed bun. Mayo. Shredded lettuce, tomato, bacon, roast beef, cheese sauce. It was so good! Worked there for 10 years.

Yeah, Musiclover, it was a poppy seed bun. They had a few others back then they don't have now. They used to have a bar-b-q Grilled chicken sandwich which had Bbq Sauce, (Bullseyes!), onion and pickle w/ the grilled chicken patty and bun. They discontinued that because they said they could only get big buckets of pickles at a time. Which was a high cost for a sandwich that didn't sell well. Then, when Arby's first had subs they had a tuna sub. Then Arby's lost the subs and then later brought them back. But they left out the tuna sub because they said it wasn't 'sliced meat'. There use to be a 3rd Turnover. A blueberry one. And let's not forget Arby's own "Mc Rib", the Chicken Cordon Blu.;)

Bring back the Super. Best sandwich ever!

You could try to build a sandwich now from their ingredients, but the lettuce now used doesn't cut it.

Ahhh! I love you guys! Was just telling my 17 yr old about the Bacon Cheddar Deluxe back when I was in high school! I'll never forget the taste of those - my fave sandwich by far! The gooey cheese would mix with the lettuce and tomato (this sounds gross but trust me, it was delish), lots of beef and of course the baoon was the star ingredient. Oh how I wish I could have one right now. I agree with zombie above, it was a poppy seed bun, denser and firmer than the beef and cheddar. How embarrassing that I remember these details!

I forgot about a very important part - the Arby's sauce mixed with the cheese and mayo also. OMG, HEAVEN.

You can still get this the bacon bac is always on the arbys secret menu just ask for lettuce tomato and mayo added. Also the super roast beef is also on the secret menu so can be ordered any time. I am currently a manager at arbys.
