my momma would always get these for me, and I would carry it around like it was a purse because of the little string mabe that is why I have about 100 purses to this day but none have cookies in them

I still buy these except in the big bag! I like to open the bag and let them air out. They get softer & more edible! I remember feeling sad that i could never complete any of the broken halves of the animals in the box. I still have boxes from the 80's holding smurfs, business cards, stamps or something...

I really didn't care for these - but MAN was I crazy about the box! Same story as pnubutterprincess82: carried it like a purse (and today I, too, love purses)... Guess the marketing/design team scored big with me!

I just picked up a box the other day. I had totally forgotten all about them. My coworkers saw them in my desk and made fun of me. They taste as good to me now as when I was little.

I carried mine like a purse, too! My grandparents used to buy these for me every single time we went to the grocery store together. I miss those days so much. I hated when they would get all soft if you left the interior bag open. Gross! I liked mine nice and crunchy!

BARNUMS CRACKERS (there is NO Bailey in the name)They still sell these pretty much everywhere! They are the only way to go when it comes to Animal crackers. Santa Claus ALWAYS puts them in our stockings at our house. I have a good sized collection of Barnums tins. I think I have close to 20 or so in all, in 4 different shapes and sizes. We even have the Barnums Matchng kids game. Barnums are a staple in our house.

I never really cared much for the crackers themselves, but the box they came in got me every time!

My mom LOVES these!Funny tho I don't remember them so much as when I was a kid but I do in recent years. They come in the same box and sometimes they come in a large bag. My mom always fusses when I eat hers up. I love them! So good!

I still get these but loved them as a small child my grandma would drive over to the store or sometimes we walked there she would buy her daily 6 pack and she would buy me my animal crackers! I remember sometimes the box would be Looney tunes with the circus theme.

Nabisco has sold Barnum's Animal cookies since the very early 1900's. When I was growing up, these were 10 to 15 cents a box, and the top had clown or ringmaster cutouts. Now, a single box is near a buck-fifty.
