Very common in the 80's and to this day in KY, where I'm from. Still one of my favorite candies. Strawberry was my favorite though and it has become nearly impossible to find.

My grocery store carries all three flavors. I recently had a Strawberry one--frozen of course! Mmmmm!

My mother actually wouldn't let me buy these when I was a kid, because she said they were "too chewy." I don't know what she thought would happen-- that eating them would pull out my teeth or something? Anyway, I got some at Halloween one year and actually really liked them. I never thought of putting them in the freezer, though it sounds really good.

I remember a Charleston Chew commercial from the '80s. Used King Louis from throughout time saying "Charleston Chew is chewy! Louie?
