OMG! I totally agree. They were the best. I have found something close. It's called Monster Munchers in Germany and France. The problem is that I can only get me hands on them about every three years. I don't know who made the Chipster but, they should bring them back.
Trish - May 03, 2009 - Report this comment
Please someone has to know where we can get them! My sisters and I were just talking about them, they are the best.

I am a chef and own a restaurant I serve the best french food but I have a strange craving for chipsters I think this is a conspiracy to make people go crazy so when they do come back after all these none eating chispsters years they are going to corner the chip market. I would buy stock.

Nabisco made them and I've been craving them for years. My sister and I would sit and munch on them when we played a board game or were just shooting the sh--. Now I'm missing them both. :( At least let me have my Chipsters if I have to wait to see my sis and best friend!

they were the best and i remember them from way before the 80's...used to eat in late 60's and early 70's...also, what about corn diggers? what happened to them?

I was addicted to Chipsters when I was a teenager!!! My Mom would buy a box and I would eat the whole thing by myself. There is a site called Roadfood that has some website in Italy or France that you can buy from--they say it's the original but I haven't tried yet.

Chipsters were the best snack food...I think they were a baked snack and if that is true, they were ahead of the times...because nowadays baked is the way to go. C'mon Nabisco bring them back even if it is for a promotional gig!
Loren - November 20, 2009 - Report this comment
You can find them in France and Italy. They still taste as great as ever! I bring home about six extra boxes every time I go there.
michele - February 01, 2010 - Report this comment
I agree they were my favorite snack ever !!! I hope Nabisco will bring them back , I am major Jonesin I am 44 years old and I have never found a sack I liked or will like better than that one .

If anyone wants to start a Bring back chipsters campaign count me in. It was my favorite snack as a kid and would probably still be my favorite if I could just find them. I am seriously craving them now. I may have to agree to the Italy trip my spouse wants to take just to find out if they really have them there.

I'd forgotten about these until tonight. They rocked!
Shirley - March 04, 2010 - Report this comment
I also loved Chipsters! To the best of my recollection, Nabisco (?) felt that they had to discontinue either Bugles or Chipsters, and conducted a survey to see which one the people liked most. I felt that Bugles were like every other corn snack on the market, but Chipsters were something wonderfully different. I can't understand why Chipsters was voted out. Please bring them back!
Gster - March 04, 2010 - Report this comment
There's a new chip I've found recently called PopChips. The Original flavor tastes a LOT like I remember Chipsters! I was a huge fan of Chipsters as well and was estatic when i found these! http://www.popchips.com/

Chipsters are my all time favorite snack food. Back in the early 70's, there was a slot car race center I used to go to because they made them there, only much larger ones. I would give about anything to have a box or two right now.
DrewDabble - March 24, 2010 - Report this comment
Gster - Thanks for the tip about Popchips! Googled and found them at my local Target here in Knoxville, TN. You are right; the Original Flavor is very reminiscent of Chipsters.
Jane - April 06, 2010 - Report this comment
Thank you so much for the tip about PopChips! I was getting desperate and was about to pay exhorbitant shipping costs to get some Chipsters from Italy. Now I only have to go to Target.

I loved Chipsters, but have found something that tastes remarkably similar. Try PopChips. See www.PopChips.com. They come in several flavors, it's the "original" that tastes like Chipsters. They're sold in the health food section of my grocery store. Warning...they're addictive to those of us who loved Chipsters!
GailDarlene - April 13, 2010 - Report this comment
Sorry to be redundant. I hadn't read all the comments before posting mine, above, about PopChips. I'm glad others agree and have found them to be similar to Chipsters.

I loved chipsters too! I would so love to have some now!! How could Nabisco take away the best thing they ever made?? Let's all write a letter to the Nabisco company!!
Mike - May 29, 2010 - Report this comment
IF these are what I think they are, I wish they still made them too! Does anyone remember if they were sold in a tall, thinner bag, and near the crackers, more than the chips, in the mid eighties?
Krissy - July 27, 2010 - Report this comment
Chipsters are my all time favorite too! My grandparents always had them for me on weekends when I would go to visit. We should all write letters to bring them back. I'll try the Popchips, going to target today. Thanks....

OMG! Popchps ARE as close to Chipsters as I can remember! I'm 46, lived on Chipsters as a youth and finding these things was a dream come true! I took one look at the picture on the bag and hoped against hope that FINALLY there was a product that resembled the blessed munchy snack from my youth. The shape isn't the same but the flavor/crunch is a chipster! I"m munching on a bag right now... God really does love us!!! I got my bag at "BJ's". A membership warehouse/wholesale kind of store.

I loved these my Mother bought them from a grocery store (Jones Brothers) in Ashland Illinois. This would have been in the 80's the ones my mother were in a yellow and white bag though small bag like Munchos bag size. They were great where we live that is the only store you could ever get them at. YESSSSS bring them back.

I found something just like Chipters> Kelloggs Special K cracker chips sea salt. Not as good but do bring back memories of a simple life

I've tried the new Nabisco Ritz Toasted Chips "Main Street Original" flavor and I think they are similar to Chipsters. Everyone should try them and see what they think too.

Chipsters were the absolute best!! I still to this day get cravings for them and nothing else satisfies the craving. I could guarantee their success if they would bring them back!!! I would personally keep them in production!

I, too, want the chipsters back. Found myself thinking about them today. And I was a child in the 70's and miss them. Please bring them back! And Munchos is the closest to them, I agree, and was thinking that maybe that is what they changed them to. However, I LOVE the originals and wish they would bring them back.

I used to eat chipsters and bugles all the time in the 60's and 70's Then one day they were hard to find. Finally found the bugles again but never could find the chipsters. Thought about them a million times since then. Just needed a place to go to, to get them.....????? Target for popchips?

I SO miss those! I too get cravings for these chips. I'll try Popchips again, but sometimes, nothing can fulfill a certain "taste". And those definitely had IT! I too would help keep Nabisco in operation if they produced these again! YUM! Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

I LOVED CHIPSTERS! The popchips are very close to what the chipsters tasted like. They are low in calorie and very tasty! I found some popchips recently at the Walgreens in my neighborhood and fell in love. However, I would love to see Nabisco bring back the chipsters again! I bet they would see a overwhelming response!

Chipsters came in a box. I have contacted Nabisco and they really do not have a good reason why they stopped making nor a real recognition of the product! I remember them, they were awesome! I am going to have to try these PopChips! I too, would be willing to start a campaign to get "whoever made them" to do so again!

chipsters came in a white/silver foil bag and i have tried unsuccessfully to get nabisco to make them for years. popchips are not nearly as good, but are based on the same principle

My grandmother kept chipstrers in her cupboard for as long as i can remember. They came in a red box with a hotair baloon on the box. Inside the box they were inside a foil type bag. the very best snack ever made.

I loved Chipsters. I bought a bag of potato snacks for my Halloween party. When I tried one I was transported back in time. However I could not think of what it reminded me but I did not want to stop eating them. Then my daughter had some. Without my saying a word she said they reminded her of something we used to have " all the time". We both remembered what they looked like but not the name. Finally tonight it came to me. CHIPSTERS. I am so excited. These are cheese potato puffs. Different in that they are cheesey and orange in color. After the name came to me I checked what happened to Chipdters. Happy to know others miss them too.

I think this was more of a 60's/70's food than 80's
