Description
Fabulous chicken chain that was competing with Popeye's Chicken in the 80's. They had such side orders as: fried okra, corn on the cob, cole slaw and crinkle cut fries. Still but few restaurants still exist. Mostly in the south.

Try the locator on the site and if you're ever in NY the city has plenty of them but mainly half Churches half White Castles.

Churches Chicken back in the 70's had the best fried chicken of all the fast food joints. They also offered a Jalapeno Pepper with every meal. Boy were they hot ! Their corn on the cob was absolutely delicious. Today their chicken is awful and the service the same. They are located in a very bad part of town so its scary to even go over there. Shame !

I haven't seen this chain in ages. I remember this place growing up in Youngstown, Ohio. Remember getting a Rocky IV T-Shirt from them in 1985.

If ever in Texas...they are everywhere...all the big cities and many that even have populations under 1000 people, and EVERYWHERE in between. They are headquartered in San Antonio. :) Happy eating y'all!

I'm from Louisiana, I've been eating Church's chicken all my life, I love it, I now live in Wichita, Ks. which, to my knowledge, has the only Church's Chicken restaurant with a buffet.

I remember eating at the Church's Chicken on Gulf to Bay in Clearwater, Florida back in the early 80's. My mom would take me either there or to the Dairy Kurl after we went to Crest Lake Park. And both the Church's and the Dairy Kurl are still there to this day! Also, check out the 1981 Church's commercial on youtube featuring Brian George, aka Seinfeld's Babu Bhatt!

Some guy here said he liked the old biscuits from Church's. As I remember correctly Church's used to serve their chicken with rolls that came with the meal. They used to come in a big square and they would tear off about 10 rolls and put them inside the box on top of the chicken.
