I LOVED these too! I talk about them all the time, but my friends don't remember them. It would make my day if my mom packed them in my lunch when I was in 5th grade!! Wish they still made them. I keep checking the Combos flavors to see if they've come up with it.

This was my favorite snack. And I liked the commercial too (the Cornquistodores). I was a college student when these came out and everyday at the student center, I used to buy 3-4 bags (they were small, not like the big bags you would find at the supermarket). If I recall correctly, they were only around for less than a year. But everyone was buying them so I never understood why they were discontinued. As much as I hate to disappoint my fellow Cornquistodores, I doubt seriously that they are being made now by anyone but if enough of us who do remember them write to the company who made them (was it Frito Lay?), they might consider bringing them back. It might be worth a try.

I loved these things when I was a kid growing up in AZ. It seems like they were around for a couple of years. They were so much better than Combos. They had a semi-spicy filling, a crispy corn shell, with a dusting of seasoning. Makes you wonder about all these great foods that were pulled off the shelves, kind of like the old red m&ms......

They were great. ate them all the time in the early 80's. maybe the reason they pulled them was because they had a problem with the center filling running out when they got a lil hot and made a mess in the bag in a store that had them on shelves in the sun. only thing i can think of.

Try Combos "Zesty Salsa" flavor. They are a spicy filling surrounded by a corn wrap, not pretzel. They're as close as I've seen to the original Cornquistos yet.

God I loved these. I used to buy them in the mid-eighties in Austin, TX when I was in college. I'd buy a bag of the nacho cheese flavor and sneak them into the movies to eat instead of popcorn. Good times. I was heartbroken when I couldn't find them anymore. I would THRILLED if they became available again.

YES!!!! I LOVED Cornquistos. I took them in my lunch all the time in Jr. High. There were three flavors...Picante, Nacho Cheese and ???? Anyone else remember the other flavor? I have tried the Zesty Salsa version of Combos and they are pretty good...but they still can't touch "Cornquistos'!

My parents would always buy these as a snack for my sister and I when they were going out and we were going to have a babysitter. We would sit and eat the entire bag! Loved them and miss them!!!

I used to eat these all the time in the 80's. My boyfriend and I would go to Circle K. That was a convenient store in Broken Arrow,OK, and I would get these and a fountain Pepsi and he always got those white powdered doughnuts. I want them back.

I remember reading somewhere that they were massively high in cholesterol and fat, which is why they discontinued this amazingly delicious snack. I remember going to the movie theater and getting a bag of them before watching Star Trek 3 -- the Search for Spock.

I will second the statement that Combos "Zesty Salsa" are VERY close to the Picante flavored Corn Quistos. When I was 16 I would get off work from the grocery store at 11:00 pm, buy a large Dr. Pepper and a large bag of Picante Corn Quistos and enjoy them while watching TV. I almost always had a bellyache the next day but it was worth it. My favorite snack of all time!

Loved, LOVED these snacks, especially the Nacho Cheese ones :) I could polish off a whole bag of them in one evening when I was a kid. My parents would never buy them for me growing up, so I would get my older brother to buy me some at the grocery store he worked at and he would bring them home and smuggle them to me :) They really do need to bring them back.......of course, I would weigh 200 lbs if they do!

There are times when I think about getting a great and flavorful snack and all that ever pops up in my head are the picante flavored Cornquistos!! I grew up on these, too! Never liked Combos, but never have tried the tortilla ones, so maybe they're ok. Closest thing I've found that reminds me of cornquistos is chili-cheese Fritos. Why can't Frito-Lay get with Mars and crunch up some CCFritos, roll 'em out and layer with cheese goo and roll them into CornQuistos 2019-style?! Or just bring the old ones back. That'd be fine.

Combos has nothing on corn- quistos I too would eat them on a daily basis then all of a sudden pow pow pow wtf. Nacho cheese corn quistos were my all time favorite as a kid. I remember looking for them one day and it seemed they just suddenly disappeared. I have never forgotten them! Every few years I remember about them, reminisce about them with my husband, Google them, wish they'd come back. I've tried combos. They are terrible. So dry and not as much flavor.
