My coworker and I were just discussing them also. I used to eat them when I was a little girl. I loved them too. We live in Kentucky so I am assuming they were available in many states. I was watching that TV show UNWRAPPED one night and saw an ice cream just like that but it had a different name. I can't remember what company made them. I will try to research this on the internet as well. It seems like they get rid of all the good stuff.

Aw man, this was my favorite ice cream of all time, they sold them here in Ohio. A store called Lawsons used to sell them. I once saw them in a tiny store in West Virginia years ago, but alas they appear to be extinct.

David - September 28, 2009 - Report this comment
I been looking for them too, but I assume they stopped selling them sometime in the 90's. They were the greatest ice cream bar/treat ever! I live in Kentucky. Last time I remember buying one was at a small country store in the mid 1990's. Costed just under a dollar at the time. Well worth it. The package was red and had white letters, and may have had a little graphic of the creamee burger on the package as well, if I recall.
Rita - September 29, 2009 - Report this comment
Yes, my aunt also owned a small country grocery store and she had the Creamy Burgers as well... I too have been on the search for them. Seems like we have a pattern here SC and KY...hmmm maybe a search method will develop and become fruitful..
Kelly - October 18, 2009 - Report this comment
They were available in the central Virginia area and could be purchased at many of the small country stores. It was packaged in a red cardboard box. Later in the early to mid nineties it was packaged in a red colored plastic wrapper.

I must say, I thought that I was the only one that was looking and craving for this sandwich. I am nuts about this thing that they call an ice cream sandwich, but I rather call it a God given mound of joy. I love, and I am still in love with this ice cream sandwich. I want to know so bad who made it?, why they stopped selling it because I feel like I could've kept the business going all by myself as many as I ate growing up as a child in Clinton, NC. This is the greatest ice cream sandwich that was ever made. I love butter pecan ice cream, but I swear to you if I ever found a place that still sold these Gifts from God, I would never eat another ice cream ever again. I would try my best to buy a gazillion of them. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee somebody bring them back. I will sign a petition and my email address is shelbymcneil@ymail.com if anyone has any information about it. Thanks.

Yay!!! I have looked all over the internet for something about Creamy Burgers, so I am super excited to know there are other people searching too! I used to buy them on ice cream day in elementary school and they were my favorite! I talk about them all the time and everyone thinks I'm crazy and claims to have never heard of them. I keep meaning to discuss it with people I went to elementary school with but have never gotten around to it. I would love to have one again. I don't eat ice cream that often, but I could eat a Creamy Burger everyday!

Wow, it's so cool to read other comments and memories about the Creamy Burger! I grew up in Clover, SC too (went to Bethany Elementary from 86-91, though I didn't have my first one until I was at Clover Middle School in 1991), and they were my absolute favorite ice cream treat! Everyone I talk to about them (my husband especially!) gives me a look like I'm crazy; so nice to see others who enjoyed them as much as I did! If we could just figure out who manufactured them, perhaps we could lobby to have them bring them back. :) Nothing else can ever compare!

I Love "Creamy Burger's", I grew up eating them on the front porch of a country store owned by my Grandsparents in Eastern KY. They stopped making them or we stopped being able to get them when I was in high school. I have been so desperate for one, that over the years my mother made them homemade; and they were just as wonderful, if not much more because they were made with so much love:)

For years I have been trying to find this delicious ice cream burger I enjoyed as a kid. I began to think I had dreamed it all up because no one around me knew what I was talking about! I can't believe there are others just like me! I remember the box and even though you all have described it perfectly I still want to see one and eat it!!! I'm emailing any and all ice cream companies to bring back the Creamy Burger!! Thank guys, we all can't be crazy! :)

The creamee burger could be bought in Gladys, VA up until the early 90s. It was packaged in a square red box with a picture of the treat on the box. Towards the end of its availability it was packaged in a red foil wrapper again with the picture of the creamee burger on the outside. It was a wonderful treat.

I grew up in KY. I used to get them at the neighborhood store (70's). That store when out of business when I was in Junior High. Didn't see one again until college (late 80's) at a corner convenient store in Ann Arbor, MI; it's no longer there. About 10-15 years ago, my sisters and I looked for them everywhere we went and even online. Well, I decided to make my own. I took 2 archway oatmeal cookies, a scoop of softened ice cream in the middle, pressed down and then frozen. Then I melted a bag of chocolate chips and dipped the frozen sandwiches completed in the melted chips and froze them again. Messy but delicious!

Thanks for your email. At this time, the equipment we were using to produce the North Star Creamy Burger has been removed from our plant in order to make room for a new line that is not designed to run the Creamy Burger. Restoring the capability to run the Creamy Burger is definitely on our radar screen but it will be no earlier than late 2021. Feel free to check back. Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us Doug Doug Sanders, Interim St Louis General Manager Ice Cream Specialties, A Division of Prairie Farms Dairy
